When you join the course, you will be invited to join our Facebook group, and through social media, you will receive course advice, instructions, tasks and feedback. In addition, you will be able to post comments, pictures, videos and homework assignments. This will give you a unique electronic record of your Summer School experience.
International Community School will take you on a London learning adventure each week. We will use the city, its landmarks and education centres to learn about London, its landmarks and its culture accompanied by trained experienced language teachers. Each day you will meet at a place or area of interest in the city. Your facilitator will lead tours, experiences and investigations which will help you develop your language skills throughout the day. At the end of each day there will be a reflection and review session, where you will focus on linguistic learning opportunities from the day.
You will learn about London's history, culture, society and landmarks. You will learn English through authentic situations, including investigations and challenges. You will have opportunities to practise real English with real English speakers in a variety of scenarios. You will develop independent skills as you gain confidence in your English and in your knowledge of London.
Who is this course for?
Learners with an elementary to advanced level of English, (beginners should try SKOLA Hyde Park or Ascot for their first year).

Who is the course for?
Students aged 14-17 with elementary level of English of higher and with ability and permission to travel independently to and from the course.
What is the course address?
The course meets at a different location in London every day, but the host school is based at:
International Community School, 21 Star Street, London, W21QB. The course begins at this site every Monday morning.
What will students eat?
Breaks and lunch are part of the learning experience! Students will take lunch and breaks in cafes around the city. They will need to bring money for lunch.
What does a typical day look like?

Where does each day start and end?
The day will start at a designated tube station or location, and will usually end at a cafe or place of interest.
How will students travel to and from the course and during the day?
Students will travel independently to the course each day. It is highly recommended that students buy an Oyster Card when they arrive in London. This card will enable them to travel easily around the city. Information about Oyster cards can be found at the Transport for London website.
To qualify for reduced fares, students may need to apply for a travelcard before travelling:

What should my child pack?
Some form of tablet or smartphone (the school will help students set up with 3 or 4G network.
Usual clothes for summertime in London, anything from shorts and tshirts to warmer clothes and rainproof clothing. Students could bring an umbrella, but they can always buy one in London too.

A tablet or smartphone with 3 or 4G capability will help students to have the best possible learning experience.
